Präsident ICT

ICT is looking for a new President to lead the organisation in its efforts to bring about the needed change in China with respect to Tibet and to achieve other ICT objectives, bearing in mind both the independence of the organisation as well as its special and important relationship with His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Central Tibetan Administration, the legitimate representatives of the Tibetan people.

The International Campaign for Tibet (ICT) is an international advocacy organisation with offices in the United States, Europe and Asia dedicated to supporting the Tibetan people’s cultural, political and social rights and freedoms and their efforts to preserve the unique Tibetan identity. The ICT believes in actively engaging the Chinese people in order to achieve true understanding between them and the Tibetans and to bring about necessary and peaceful democratic change in China. The ICT undertakes efforts to obtain international support for Tibetans and their peaceful struggle; it supports Tibetan refugees; and advocates for human rights and freedoms for the Tibetan people.
Founded in 1988, ICT is a non-profit organisation with offices in Washington D.C., Amsterdam, Berlin, and Brussels and field offices in Dharamsala and Kathmandu.

  • To oversee legislative initiatives in the US and Europe and other initiatives to promote the Tibetan cause, obtain greater recognition of the work of His Holiness and the Central Tibetan Administration, and to provide assistance to Tibetan refugees and where appropriate to Tibetans inside Tibet.
  • To inspire, motivate and lead the ICT staff and ensure proper coordination between the organisation’s various offices.
  • To inspire and motivate the global network of advocates and NGOs working for Tibetans.
  • To develop and maintain relationships with other organisations and corporations of importance to ICT’s work.
  • To share responsibility for the organisation’s fundraising efforts.
  • To cultivate high donors, and to maintain personal contact with high donors.
  • To prepare for and participate in Board meetings, and to participate in other ICT board meetings (ICT Europe and ICT Germany).
  • To oversee the responsible financial management of the organisation.
  • To oversee hiring ICT personnel.

The President of ICT will be assisted in his function by qualified staff, including a Managing Director at the organisation’s Washington D.C. office.
The President will report to the Board of ICT and will work closely with the Executive Chairman of the Board.
The engagement is for a minimum period of two years.
